About Me

My journey to becoming a counsellor is characterized by diverse experiences across different continents. Before embracing counselling, I worked in various industries in India and the USA, including e-commerce, retail banking, aviation, health, and hospitality. These experiences enriched my understanding of human resilience and deepened my appreciation for the significance of mental well-being in all aspects of life.

School Counsellor Internship:
During my master's program in Singapore, I interned as a school counsellor, working closely with students, teachers, and parents. I provided support on academic, social, and emotional challenges. This experience ignited my passion for helping individuals during transformative phases in their lives and laid the foundation for my journey as a clinical counsellor.

Private Practice – A Sanctuary for Growth:
As a Registered Clinical Counsellor, I run a private practice in Coquitlam, offering a safe and nurturing space for clients to explore their emotions and experiences, in person and online across British Columbia. My expertise spans relationship issues, divorce & separation, anxiety, depression, grief & loss, chronic illness, life transitions, intergenerational trauma, and childhood sexual abuse.

Drawing from evidence-based therapeutic modalities and genuine empathy, I work collaboratively with clients to uncover their innate strengths, resilience, and potential for growth. My goal is to empower individuals to cultivate meaningful and fulfilling lives, even in the face of adversity.

Occupational Rehabilitation – Restoring Purpose and Function:
In addition to private practice, I previously worked at an occupational rehab clinic, supporting clients recovering from work-related injuries. I emphasized the connection between physical and emotional well-being to help individuals regain functionality and confidence in their professional lives.

Personal Note

I became a mental health practitioner inspired by a time when I believed help was inaccessible. Fortunately, I found it—and that small sliver of hope I held onto became the foundation for A Hopeful Step. I now aim to extend that hope to others.

Living and working in India, the USA, Japan, and Singapore has given me the opportunity to experience diverse cultures. This has not only shaped my personal growth but also allows me to work with and learn from people across different backgrounds and ethnicities.
